Koh Phangan - Home of the Full moon Party

Come and experience the Full Moon Party in Thailand. There are about 10,000 to 20,000 people who arrive every month in Koh Phangan to attend the world famous beach party. International and Thai DJ's keep the music going right through until the following evening. Paint yourself in UV colours get a bucket in your hand and ENJOY! The DJ's play all kinds of music, so whatever you’re into you will find it playing on one of the 15 different sound systems along Haad Rin beach. There are also many areas on the beach where you can sit down and chill with your friends or meet new friends from all corners of the globe. The bars and restaurants can offer you drinks and food all night long. Like any other festival or party around the world we do advise you to be careful as drugs maybe offered to you and sometimes drinks get spiked. Enjoy yourself but remember that drugs are illegal here in Thailand, if you want a taste of life in a Thai prison read the book "The Damage Done" and let that be as close as you get!! Advise for the girls, don't wear your favorite clothes as everyone ends up with UV paint on something and it doesn't always come out! The beach gets packed, so if you and your mates don't have mobiles pick a good meeting place for when or if you get separated. Don't go in the water after dark for a swim even if you need to cool off as there has been drownings in the past. My favorite bar on the beach would be the Drop Inn Bar. This place has the best Fire throwers, bar staff and mix of music. The Cactus Bar is also a favorite with many but it’s a good idea to have a good look up and down the beach before settling at one. The dates for the Full moon Party 2007 are listed here but please remember to check as dates might change if there is a Buddhist holiday on the Full Moon night.

Our Island has so much to offer.............

If you are unable to be here for a Full Moon don't worry. At Haad Rin beach, every night is party night. With most of the bars staying open till the morning every night of the week, there's plenty of time to Party! Also if your not here for Full Moon you'll probably find that the Half Moon Party or Black Moon Party will be on. On top of those there is also the Shiva Moon and Ban Sabai Parties and not forgetting the MTF Pool party. Both the Black Moon and the Half moon Parties are located in BanTai. Although they are in the same town they are in very different settings. The Black Moon is located on BanTai Beach and the Half Moon inland in the Jungle. Both are great and well worth a visit.

When the full moon party is over and the sun has set on Koh Phangan you'll be surprised to find how much more Koh Phangan has on offer. As a natural paradise island in the Southern Gulf of Thailand, Koh Phangan serves as the perfect getaway retreat. From relaxing on quiet deserted beaches,Learning the art of Muay
Thai, snorkeling and learning to dive, trekking to seeking adventure in the nearby Ang Thong National Park. Check out the Chinese Temple, Laem Son lake, Domsina View Point, Bottle Beach or try your hand at Thai Cooking of go Elephant trekking. If you have always wanted a Tattoo Koh Phangan is a great place to get one. With lots of choice of Tattoo Palours you will find what you’re looking for. There is alot of options for getting to and from Koh Phangan. One easy and quick way would be to fly into Koh Samui our next door neighbour. From there you can get a ferry either into Haad Rin or Thongsala. You could also take a Plane, Train or Bus to Surat Thani on the mainland and then take the ferry from there to Thongsala. All options are cheap, safe and easy.

Getting around Koh Phangan also has many options. Taxi cars and Motorbikes are plenty. They are a cheap, regular and safe way to travel. Koh Phangan has good roads but these can be dangerous if you don't know them very well. The Island is very hilly especially coming out of Haad Rin. There are plenty of places to rent jeeps and motorbikes. Please please please be very careful when driving. You really don't want to spend your holiday in hospital. Also repairs to damaged vehicles can be very expensive.
